FOLLOW THE STEPS DISCUSSED BELOW TO INCREASE THE CHANCES OF YOUR EMAIL LANDING IN THE PRIMARY INBOX BY AT LEAST 250%.
There are triggers for the service provider algorithms to identify any given mail as primary/spam/promotions.
The most crucial thing while writing an email for marketing is staying human email should look like a human-to-human conversation, or it will land in the spam folder.
Use automated emailing, mailing all the emails at once could trigger the bots, and all your emails will land straight in the spam.
If you are sending 600 emails a day, (24*60)/600 is 1.4.
Send one email every 1.4 minutes.
In my first email campaign, I mailed my 200 contacts at once, and guess what? Forget spam none of them got even sent.
Enough of the talk, now we'll move to the steps-
1. EMAIL MUST BE ERROR-FREE
Your subject is the best in the world, but if it has errors, it will create a negative impact on the reader, making it hard for them to trust your mail, ask yourselves if you encounter a mail with a few silly spelling errors, will you trust them with giving your name and email.
Write your emails on Grammarly first, period.
It will help you to get rid of silly spelling/grammatical mistakes, which we tend to make often writing while listening to music or binging some series ;)
2. TEST THE SUBJECT LINE
After writing the email, it is time to move to the next level.
Paste your subject line to the sites mentioned below and tweak your subject line accordingly. (Free)
These sites will give you an insight into the subject lines, what looks spammy and what increases the open rate.
Omnisend has a section called 'helpful words' that has a list of words that increases the open rate.
Both the sites have a preview section, where you can see how your subject looks on different devices.
3. TEST THE BODY
Now that we have a perfect subject line for our email, time to optimize the body of the email.
As I mentioned earlier, there are a lot of words (spammy words) that trigger the service provider bots.
To get rid of those words, Paste your email body on - Autoklose.
Autoclose underlines all the words that look spammy.
Change all the underlined words with their synonyms or change the sentence if any synonyms don't go well.
4. TEST THE EMAIL
Time to get your hands dirty.
We'll send our perfect email to a bunch of sample sites to get reviewed.
One of the best sites is - Gmass.
Gmass provides a bunch of emails, send an email to all of those ids and head back to Gmass to know where your mail landed (primary/spam/promotions) on each id.
Next, go to - Mailtester and send your mail to the mentioned email id,
and head back to the site to get a detailed analysis of your email.
If your email account is new, do not send more than 5-10 emails per day because most service providers increase your sending limit gradually, you don't get all your sending limit right from the first day.
Attach links with the proper domain name and always avoid links those redirects to a broken site.
Sending affiliate and other promotional links have a specific way called cloaking, which I will discuss in the next blog.
